OUR VISION

A Better Future, together

In the modern age, Kiwis are more connected to each other online than ever before, yet we have not figured out how to empower collective problem-solving efficiently, ethically, or equitably. We envisage Buzzy helping Kiwis to better understand and contribute to community decision-making on the issues that matter to them, providing a digital space where everyday people can shape local and national discourse and be a catalyst for widespread change.

THE NEED

A crisis of community

Like most modern democracies, New Zealand lacks an easily accessible tool citizens can use to contribute routinely and productively to collective decision-making. Opinion polling is the primary means of gauging public sentiment, yet current solutions are slow, costly, and limited in scope. The lack of a space for constructive, community-led debate creates challenges for leaders wishing to act in the interest of their constituents.

AN ANSWER

YOUR IDEA COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE

For the first time, Kiwis have a platform dedicated to finding  optimal solutions to real local and national challenges. Buzzy brings together diverse perspectives and communities to create a space where every voice is heard and every vote matters. Whether you’re a political enthusiast, a concerned citizen, or simply curious, Buzzy has all the tools you need to turn ideas into reality.

My motivation for creating Buzzy was fairly simple: I felt like I had no ability to impact political decision-making. I wasn’t the type to organise protests and movements, and the leadership that is supposed to hear people like me didn't provide any convenient way for me to be heard. But why should people like me be locked out of influencing real change? If we can all be connected through the devices that live in our pockets, why should our individual voices be muted? I developed Buzzy so that Kiwis can share a platform that allows everyone to  advocate for the changes they want to see, in all areas of life, in a simple, healthy and easy way.

I believe that the path to a sustainable socio-economic future for Aotearoa New Zealand lies in considered decision-making that puts the needs and interests of citizens first. I got involved with Buzzy because I believe that  everyday people often make the most realistic assessments of our country's political, commercial, and community challenges, yet they do not have an outlet to influence change. I think people need access to a practical technology-based solution that amplifies unheard ideas and beliefs about how to solve society's most pressing challenges.
